Arkansas State University NPR member station KASU has hired Rebecca Robinson as its new staff reporter. Robinson steps into a role that was reconfigured following the promotion of Brandon Tabor to the position of news director in April 2023.

Under the new structure, Tabor will maintain his role as the host of Morning Edition, while Robinson will concentrate on local news gathering and reporting. She will serve as a backup host for Morning Edition.

Robinson earned her degree in multimedia journalism from Arkansas State in December. She served as Sports Editor for the university’s student-run newspaper, The Herald, before becoming Editor-in-Chief.

KASU Station Manager Mark Smith commented, “I believe Rebecca will be a valuable asset to our news team. I know that KASU’s local and regional news coverage will greatly benefit from her skills and her enthusiasm, and I look forward to seeing what she will accomplish here.”

Robinson said, “I’m excited to be a part of the KASU team. It’s a great opportunity to use my passion for journalism daily. I look forward to helping cover local politics and other news of community interest in my role at the station. I think this region of Arkansas has much to offer and a wealth of fascinating stories to tell.”
